“‘I do not take any pleasure in the death of anyone,’ declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. ‘So turn back and live.’” —Ezekiel 18:32. These moving words reveal Jehovah’s true feelings: He takes no delight in destruction. He longs for sinners—every one of us—to repent, be reconciled to Him, and enjoy life in His favor (2 Corinthians 5:20). Throughout history, Jehovah has repeatedly called His wayward people and individual sinners to return. From Israel’s repeated unfaithfulness to personal failings, His message has always been the same: Turn back! Repent! Live! He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish but for all to attain repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Congregation elders have the sacred privilege of being “fellow workers with God” in this merciful work (1 Corinthians 3:9). When serious sin arises, they do not rush to condemn. Instead, they imitate Jehovah’s kindness that leads to repentance (Romans 2:4). They meet with care, show empathy, offer Scriptural guidance, and pray earnestly that the person “comes to his senses” and returns (2 Timothy 2:25, 26). Their goal is restoration, not removal. And when repentance happens? Heaven rejoices! Jesus taught that there is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who need no repentance (Luke 15:7). Jehovah Himself experiences that joy personally every time a lost sheep returns to the congregation. Our heavenly Father is merciful, compassionate, slow to anger, and abundant in loyal love (Exodus 34:6). Meditating on His compassion, mercy, and undeserved kindness deepens our love for Him (Luke 1:78). It moves us to turn back when we stray and to extend the same mercy to others. In this video, reflect on: Jehovah’s heartfelt plea in Ezekiel 18:32—He wants life, not death How He has always urged repentance throughout Bible history The beautiful role of elders as fellow workers imitating God’s kindness The joy in heaven—and Jehovah’s personal joy—over every repentant sinner Why meditating on His mercy strengthens our love and motivates us to stay close to Him Hopeful encouragement: No matter how far you’ve strayed, Jehovah is waiting with open arms—turn back and live! If guilt, mistakes, or distance from Jehovah weigh on your heart, this Scripture is a warm invitation. He does not want you destroyed—He wants you reconciled, forgiven, and close to Him. Repent, return, and experience His joy. JW DAILY TEXT LESSON Animations and visual elements in this video were originally created and carefully edited by this channel.
