This episode focuses on the defining quality of Ikrimah ibn Abi Jahl (R): transformation through faith. He was the son of one of Islam’s fiercest enemies — Abu Jahl. For years, he fought against the Muslims. At Badr, Uhud, and many battles, he stood on the opposite side. When Makkah was conquered, fear filled his heart. He fled, believing there was no place for him in Islam. But his wife, Umm Hakim, sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ for his safety. She traveled far, found him, and told him: “The Messenger of Allah has granted you safety.” When Ikrimah (R) returned to meet the Prophet ﷺ, he expected anger… punishment… rejection. Instead, the Prophet ﷺ welcomed him with mercy. From that moment, everything changed. The man who once fought Islam began fighting for it with unmatched courage. Later, on the battlefield, he would say: “I fought the Messenger of Allah in many battles. How can I hold back today while fighting for Islam?” His life reminds us that the door of transformation is always open. What matters is not where a person begins — but where sincerity leads them.
