Shinobi Art of Vengeance | Everything we know about LizardCube’s upcoming homage to a SEGA classic

In December of 2023 Sega announced a - now abandoned - campaign called the Power Surge. In their announcement they showed video clips of a series of new games in production that are going to be based upon popular, but neglected SEGA IPs: Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Crazy Taxi, and yes….Shinobi. Right away Shinobi was the breakout star of the power surge trailer, with a game that was clearly much farther along in development than the others…..it was also clear that Shinobi was in the art style of LizardCube, a French game studio perhaps most famous for co-developing the very popular Streets of Rage IV. Well, LizardCube has finally made an official announcement, confirming what most of us have known all along….and Shinobi the Art of Vengeance now has an official release date and a full blown trailer revealing many more details about what we can expect from the new game. A lot of it looks extremely promising, but not everything about this new Shinobi game is good.
