"Wandering through forests and climbing mountains, the group of travellers is looking for a cure. They were cursed - a mysterious fortune teller gifted them a book that would bind all those who have written down their names into it. The heroes found out about a powerful mage, only the name was what they had. But they wouldn't give up until they would actually find him." " 'Lay down', he said. 'As you share the same dreams, I believe that I have the best chance of lifting the curse when you all sleep.' Preparations were being made and the three would close their eyes. And they would wake up in a landscape of mist, while their companions would watch through the flipping book of magical secrets." "They didn't know about her. About her past. About her pact. About her loss, and why she was so silent. She would never tell anyone. But now that the curse was gone, the same nightmares that would hunt her every night would return, just to remind her who reigns over her. And this time, there were witnesses. And perhaps now they might understand who they have in front of them." --------------------- Drawing Software: Clip Studio Paint Pro Drawing Tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, XP-Pen Deco LW Editing Software: Adobe After Effects Amount of layers: 376 Amount of images created: 243 Work Time: Storyboarding & Moodboard: 3 h Frame by Frame Animating: 3 h Drawing: 45 h Editing: 24 h 75 h total Finished on the 9th of September Music: My Mother Told me Old Norse Cover by Colm R. McGuinness • My Mother Told Me (In Old Norse) ---------------------- Heyya. This was both my big After Effects assignment aswell as my huge exam submission for the 4th semester at my art school. But much more important to me - the best animatic I have done so far, specifically made for my DnD party. I waited for this for pretty much a year, I already collected small ideas until I started to work on it in somewhere between May and June. And what can I say, I am extremely proud of myself but this was both motivation through wanting to achieve something better than before through my artistic skill, aswell as making my friends a wonderful surprise and something to look at. I do know that those who watch this and don't have the context of our Dungeons and Dragons adventure might not piece together exactly what happens, but that is fine. I also have to still somewhat keep it cryptic for future gameplay :) It was a scripted event, built up all for this to happen. I planned that scene for months and when the session finally took place at the 9th of November. I could give my descriptions about what is going to happen, let them get into the mood and just played the video in front of them; Leaving it without any comment, finish watching it and saying "And that's how I will end the session". What a glorious feeling it is when you wait for that for half a year. And to my relief, they enjoyed it a lot. I am not sure if someone told me before that I made them have goosebumps through my art, but they told me they had and they immediately asked for the link to rewatch it. I actually had my heart pounding throughout playing the video and when it was done, I could barely sleep for the rest of the night. I was just too happy, as the session completely went as planned, was the best one I ever had and we got to the video they loved. And I think that is what is so amazing about being an artist, but also a dungeon master. Like I got teary.
