A release and renewal workout, to leave you feeling great. Only do the clearance exercises if you're currently healthy - if you are tired or ill, fast forward to 10:10 and just do the energising flows. A set of clearance exercises to let go of old 'stuff', followed by some flows to bring in new life. Energising and calming at the same time, and continuing the theme of autumn practice. SWINGING ARMS Stay relaxed and let the movement of the waist send the arms out. Loose fists knock on the waist and lower back, and then on the lung points at the front of the shoulder. SHAKING AND PATTING Shakes out tensions and old stagnant patterns, clears the meridians and wakes up the nervous system, bringing us into the present moment. PUMPING ARMS An excellent purging / clearance exercise. Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. SIDE SWINGING ARMS Again a great purging exercise and very relaxing for the shoulders. Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. TIGER Make tiger claws of your fingers and sweep down, sending stuck 'stuff' into the earth. Gather clean new energy and bring it back up through every cell of the body. PUSH HANDS AND PUNCH FISTS Clears the liver and gall bladder. Use this as an opportunity to express and release any anger or frustration you may be holding. GATHERING CHI Inhale as the hands move to the heart and exhale as they move away. Brings chi from the earth, the sky and the world around you. OPENING THE LUNGS As the hands float outwards, inhale, letting air flow into your lungs. As they come together, breathe out. A Metal element practice that really suits the Autumn season. THE FOUNTAIN Enhances physical and sexual energy. Inhale and use your hands to bring earth energy up the inside of the legs and the front of the body, to the collarbones. Then let the hands fall outwards as you exhale. You are energising the kidney meridian. EXPANDING THE CHI BALL See if you can feel the chi between your hands. EMBRACING THE TREE Energising and stabilising.
