3GPP NR Release 18 is the first release in the second wave of the 5G standard, called 5G Advanced. 5G Advanced provides enhancements in multiple areas of the physical layer, including uplink and downlink MIMO, positioning, sidelink, and sub-5MHz bandwidth for for mission-critical communication. Please join our technical webinar to learn about those latest advances and their applications, and how 5G Toolbox helps model R18 features. You will learn: What some of the main physical layer features of 5G Advanced are How to model some of the main enhanced MIMO features including 8-layer uplink transmission and increased number of DMRS and SRS ports (Demodulation and Sounding Reference Signals) How to apply AI/ML algorithms to enhance positioning and channel state information reporting How to take advantage of the latest R2024b features of MathWorks 5G Toolbox that apply to 5G and/or 5G Advanced What capabilities are available on the way towards 6G About the Presenter Marc Barberis is an application engineer with MathWorks, based in Silicon Valley, where he focuses on wireless standards such as 5G NR, LTE and WLAN. Prior to joining MathWorks, Marc worked on the modeling of telecommunications systems and the design of receivers for 2G/3G cellular phones and satellites systems among others. He attended numerous 3GPP standardization meetings for GSM/EDGE and W-CDMA. He holds a M.S. in Signal Processing from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications de Paris, France. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get a free product trial: https://goo.gl/ZHFb5u Learn more about MATLAB: https://goo.gl/8QV7ZZ Learn more about Simulink: https://goo.gl/nqnbLe See what's new in MATLAB and Simulink: https://goo.gl/pgGtod © 2025 The MathWorks, Inc.
