This is a play-through using M.Bison in the Saturn version of Street Fighter Alpha 1. Read on below for more information... M.Bison is the main last boss of this game for some characters. He is an unlockable playable character. ===== About M.Bison ===== Probably the most famous fighting game boss character, and the staple Street Fighter villain. In Alpha, he is depicted as an overly-muscled tub of lard. Alpha 1 Bison is fun to use as a character, his Knee Press and Head Stomp/dive punch are much faster and more responsive than in Alpha 2 or Alpha 3. Alpha 1 CPU Bison is the hardest of the Alpha Bisons to fight against. Set the game onto the highest difficulty and fight against him for a decent challenge. ===== Additional Information ===== ---- When the CPU is controlling M.Bison and he performs the Psycho projectile, you'll find that he often recovers from the move MUCH quicker than if a human player performed the same move with him. Only the CPU-controlled Bison can do this. ---- When the CPU is controlling M.Bison, it does not need to charge to perform his Special Moves or Super Combos. Of course. ---- M.Bison is the only character in SFA1 who does not have any chain combos. ---- His personal boss in the game is Rose. ---- SFA1 is the only game where Bison has some unique voices and grunts. They were changed for SFA2 and beyond. ---- In the Saturn version of the game, when the characters perform super combos, the shadow trails of the character are coloured differently. If you switch the music to Original, the shadow trails will be like the arcade version. ---- In the Saturn version of the game, some of the hit sound effects are different when compared to the PS1 version. ---- In the Saturn version of the game, in the character endings, the style of text in the dialogue box is different to the PS1 and Arcade versions. ---- In the Saturn version of the game, the character name text under the lifebars are shifted inwards a little. ---- In the Saturn version of the game, when you win a round with a throw, the win icon shows a baseball. This is different to the PS1 and Arcade versions where it showed a rope instead. ---- In the Saturn version of the game, when fighting on Charlie's background, when you win a round there is no crowd noise (when they throw the money). On the PS1 and Arcade versions, the crowd makes a noise. ---- M.Bison is known as Vega in Japan. ---- The game is known as Street Fighter Zero in Japan. ===== About SFA1 ===== This game kicked off the brilliant Alpha series of Street Fighter... the game still holds a place in my heart. Despite it being a bit "broken" competitively-wise, it is still a fun game to go back to every now and then. It is also the only Alpha game with chain combos as one of it's core mechanics. The Saturn version has some minor differences and aspects when compared to the PS1 version of the game. These differences are noted above in the Additional Information section. On a personal level, I think the Arranged/Remixed soundtrack music in the PS1 and Saturn versions are one of the best styles of instrumentals that Capcom have produced. It's basically the really emphasized jazzy, funky techno stuff.
