A compilation of Seven Magnificent Trains at Famous Sullivans Curve! 4 Manifest, 1 Rack/Stack & 2 Z Trains! BONUS DRONE FOOTAGE! 3 Union Pacific and 4 BNSF! A full assortment of Locomotives and rail cars! Two BNSF Z Trains, built for speed crossing the desert, maintain a steady pace as they ascend the steep Cajon Pass Grade. Captured perfectly at the picturesque Curve! I posted these trains separately also on YouTube. Cajon Pass and Sullivan's Curve are located sixty miles east of Los Angeles, California. Sullivan's Curve is a notable section of the railroad tracks through Cajon Pass, featuring a sharp curve with a stunning backdrop, offering a challenging and visually striking segment of the route. It is named after Herbert S. Sullivan, who took promotional photos at the curve for Santa Fe Railway in the 1940s and 1950s. First Train. 00:01 Union Pacific Auto-racks and Stacks. Long Beach, CA to Denver, CO. Two Heritage Units: Southern Pacific 6310 and Western Pacific 1983. A sweet catch moving at a strong pace. Eastbound on BNSF Main Track 1. Six Power Units (4+2). Second Train. 04:53 Union Pacific Manifest Freight Train. Taking the UP siding traveling northbound. Our stationary train tied down earlier on the main line since it was longer than the siding. Thus, this shorter train stops to allow the longer to proceed. A wonderful manifest train with many interesting rail cars. Third Train. 12:21 First-down train, southbound UP manifest train releases. EMD SD70ACe leader with seven total locomotives (4+2+1). A monster long lash-up takes her time to let out the slack going downgrade. It does not take long before she gets up her speed. You can hear the 5KLLA horn as the lead clears the switch and crossing. Fourth Train. 22:35 BNSF Z Train, eastbound traveling up Main Track 1. With five power units, elephant style in the lead, this train has no issues keeping a strong and steady pace up the steep curved tracks here at Sullivan's. This engineer seems to be fond of Buddy and myself. Fifth Train. 26:55 A short but sweet one. BNSF Manifest Train. Heading westbound downgrade on Main Track 2. Consisting mostly of auto-racks, hoppers, and tank. Sixth Train. 28:25 Priority Z Train with four locomotives, two H2 liveries. Moving eastbound up main track 1. Buddy and I move above the tracks on this one for a different perspective. Another strong and steady consist easily hauls this load of containers and truck trailers. And finally, Train Seven. 33:30 Aerial drone view of a BNSF Manifest train. Main track 1, eastbound. Another cool perspective and a super nice train!
