This episode is a departure from the usual Facilities Maintenance work that I do. My hot tub had a bad leak. I needed to figure out where it was coming from and (hopefully) repair it. Turns out it was a bad cartridge filter canister that was (really!) leaking at the input fitting. While hot tub parts are fairly universal, for the record my tub is a 2010 Coast Spas, model Freedom 45 (92" x 92" x 40" - 440 USG) with two 4hp pumps. The parts and materials I used were as follows: a Waterways Filter Cartridge Canister (2 Topload c/w Bypass 100 Sq Ft) 4 PVC sweep elbows WELD-ON 795 PVC Cement Oatey PVC Purple Primer There aren't too many videos out there detailing this process, as these parts generally don't fail during the life of the tub (maybe because most people don't use their tubs for as long as I have, since I've already replaced two motors, a number of seals, an air-mix valve, and the ozonator, lol), so I thought I'd make one. Stay safe and be kind to one another!
