"4Kids Entertainment Logo History" compiled by TR3X Productions, 18/09/2025. Requested by darthkurland. Please note: This compilation, like all others on this channel, was uploaded for non-commercial purposes. This video takes a look at the logos of Leisure Concepts, Inc. (1970-95) and its successors, those being 4Kids Entertainment (1995-2012) and 4Licensing Corporation (2012-17). Leisure Concepts, Inc. was founded as an independent licensing agency by Mike Germakian and Stan Weston on 22nd April 1970. Headquartered in New York City (along with its two aforementioned successors), the company had partnerships with companies such as Rankin-Bass, Nintendo and Lorimar-Telepictures, and handled licenses including ThunderCats and The Legend of Zelda. On 16th November 1995, LCI renamed to 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. albeit their name continued to be used outside the USA until the turn of the century. 4Kids Entertainment, unlike its predecessor (as far as I know), had their logos appear on-screen for the TV shows they licensed, and their first logo appeared on the first season of WMAC Masters in 1995. Their next logo would debut on the second season of said show, and it was produced by Norman J. Grossfeld who would later produce the English versions of the Japanese TV anime series Pokémon (seasons 1-8) and Yu-Gi-Oh! (seasons 1-5). With Warner Bros. Pictures, 4Kids Entertainment released the English version of Pokémon: The First Movie on 10th November 1999, which became a success at the box office and on home media as the 20th century ended. The first few years of the new millennium saw 4Kids release several movies in the Pokémon franchise, and many of their new shows were found on the Saturday morning block on the Fox network from 14th September 2002 onwards, that being known as FoxBox. Some of these included Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the 2003 series), Sonic X, Winx Club and One Piece. Foxbox would be renamed to 4Kids TV on 22nd January 2005, and that date also saw 4Kids Entertainment receive a new logo that eventually replaced their previous one from 1999. Most variants of the last 4Kids Entertainment logo featured the 4Kids TV branding, which continued until the early 2010s when it last appeared on the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX from 2011-12; this occurred long after the 4Kids TV block on Fox closed down on 22nd December 2008. Note the 4Kids TV wordmark was updated on the second seasons of Viva Piñata and Chaotic respectively in late 2007. In the early 2010s, 4Kids partnered with Cinedigm to release an English version of Yu-Gi-Oh!: Bonds Beyond Time in 2010, and this was released in February 2011. That was the last movie to be released by 4Kids as they were facing a lawsuit problem regarding the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise in the same year. 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. renamed to 4Licensing Corporation on 21st December 2012 to get themselves out of bankruptcy, but the inevitable occurred on 7th February 2017 and they went defunct. Note the byline in the last variant of 4Licensing Corp's only logo; "A family of companies"; 4Kids Entertainment was listed as one of them. This appeared on 4Licensing Corp's website which closed later on in 2017, but interestingly enough, the 4Kids Entertainment website is still up as of September 2025.
