#Bengaljukebox Label : Bengal Foundation Raga Sangeet ♦️ Evening Ragas 2 ♦️ 🔹Track List 🔹 1. Puriya Kalyan ▶️ 00:00 Puriya Kalyan is a raga in the Marwa parent scale (thaat). The raga utilises komal rishabh and teevra madhyam, while all other notes are natural. There are elements of Puriya in the poorvanga (lower tetrachord), and Kalyan in the uttaranga (upper tetrachord). The raga is usually sung in the late afternoon or early evening. Its mood is calm and evokes feelings of submission and devotion. Pt. Amiya Ranjan Bandyopadhyay (Artiste) Arumay Dey (Tabla) Pt. Amiya Ranjan Bandyopadhyay, a scion of the Bishnupur gharana, presents this rendition of Puriya Kalyan (recorded in 2014) with great creative elaboration and emotive strength. 2. Yaman ▶️ 44:18 Yaman belongs to the Kalyan thaat which is formed by natural notes other than the teevra madhyam. It is usually presented in the early evening when the lamps are lit. It has a serene mood and is evocative of devotion and love. Shanti Sharma (Artiste) Prasun Chatterjee (Tabla) Mahmood Dholpuri (Harmonium) Shanti Sharma (1956-2008) was an exponent of the Kirana gharana.
