Lagos Prison Wardens Flog Inmate For Alleged Attempt To Attack Wardens And Escape

On the heels of a Van attack on Prison Wardens in Warri yesterday, an inmate in the Lagos State High Court today was mobbed by Wardens of the court prison for an alleged attempt to attack prison wardens and escape. The suspect was said to have physically assaulted a harmed prison officer after he, alongside his co-defendant in a fraud related case was denied bail by Justice Okunnu at the court. Their denial for bail was said to be due to an alleged evasiveness of the suspects, where they were said to have evaded arrest for four years until recently they were caught by law enforcement officers. After their bail denial, one of the inmates tried to scuffle with the officers who was harmed, but the officers, who said they were conscious of the incident at Warri prison yesterday mobbed, handcuffed and whisked him in a prison van.
