📍 Johnny Gosch (Age 12) & Eugene Martin (Age 13) 🗓 Dates: September 5, 1982 & August 12, 1984 📍 Location: Des Moines, Iowa, USA On September 5, 1982, 12-year-old Johnny Gosch left home before dawn to deliver newspapers in West Des Moines, Iowa. He was last seen talking to a stocky man near a blue two-toned car. His red wagon, full of undelivered newspapers, was found abandoned two blocks from his home. Johnny was never seen again. Two years later, on August 12, 1984, 13-year-old Eugene Martin disappeared under nearly identical circumstances while delivering newspapers on the south side of Des Moines. His newspaper bag was found abandoned. Eugene has never been found. For over 40 years, these cases have remained unsolved. In 1997, Johnny’s mother Noreen claimed her son visited her at 2:30 AM—now 27 years old, accompanied by an unidentified man. He told her he had been held captive by a child trafficking ring and couldn’t come home because his life was in danger. Law enforcement has never confirmed this visit occurred. In 2006, mysterious photographs were left on Noreen’s doorstep—images she believes show Johnny in captivity. Authorities traced some photos to an unrelated Florida case, but one boy in the images was never identified. Noreen insists that boy is Johnny. These disappearances inspired the milk carton missing children campaign, led to the creation of the Johnny Gosch Bill requiring immediate police response to missing children reports, and helped establish the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. But Johnny and Eugene have never been found. And their cases remain open. This is the story of the Iowa paper boys—two cases that changed how America searches for missing children, but still have no answers after more than four decades. #TrueCrime #ColdCase #JohnnyGosch #EugeneMartin #IowaPaperBoys #UnsolvedMysteries #MissingChildren #ColdCaseRecords #TrueCrimeDocumentary #MilkCartonKids #NoreenGosch #DesMoinesIowa true crime, cold case, Johnny Gosch, Eugene Martin, Iowa paper boys, Des Moines Iowa, unsolved mysteries, missing children, milk carton campaign, Noreen Gosch, 1982 disappearance, 1984 disappearance, child abduction, cold case documentary, true crime documentary, paper boy disappearance, missing persons, National Center for Missing Exploited Children
