Patag is a highland area in northern Negros Occidental, lying in the foothills of mountains like Mt. Mandalagan. It sits hundreds of meters above sea level (around 500–670 m), which gives it a cooler climate compared to lowland towns. It’s a relatively small barangay with a population of only a few thousand people, making it quiet and rural. Patag was officially declared a tourist zone in 1995, so the government promotes tourism there while protecting its natural beauty and historical sites. Today, it’s known as an eco-tourism and outdoor recreation area, attracting hikers, campers, and nature lovers.
