Day 5 in the #FlowIntoFlight Instagram challenge, and we are flying into Flying Pigeon or Eka Pada Galavasana today. This flow is pretty stretchy and much of it on the back/floor, as you've been working hard this week!! So enjoy that. There are also some seated and reclined variations on the pose, which are good options if your wrists are sore. Still lots of work there for the actions of the legs/feet and the for the core! Think HIPS for this one...it's important to get those hips open since the top shin is in deep external rotation. I loved using my Together WE Expand zafu meditation cushion to cuddle up with in Pigeon ahhhh....so grab a pillow or a bolster for this one! Flying Pigeon is a challenging posture for sure. It took me quite a long time find balance and to get that back leg up, but it comes with steady practice and learning where the points of leverage are. Happy flying, and let me know how it goes!!!
