śraddhā (श्रद्धा) – f. n. [Vedānta]Refers to a confident disposition towards Vedic teachings and the teacher, without which there is no firmness in knowledge (jñāna). More than mere belief, it implies a conviction that opens itself to the sacred and embraces the words of the Upaniṣads both rationally and experientially, sustaining the practices of śravaṇa, manana, and nididhyāsana. In Vedānta, śraddhā unites heart and mind, creating the indispensable foundation for inner transformation and the non-dual recognition that Ātman is Brahman. This was the case with Acharya Jonas Masetti, who, despite having a well-established life with everything society claims brings happiness, decided to move to India and study Vedānta with Swami Dayananda. This decision transformed not only his own life but also the lives of thousands of people connected like a great spiritual family. The Vishva Vidya family, cultivated over the past 10 years with the blessings of Swami Dayananda and teacher Gloria Arieira, is deeply rooted in the Vedic tradition and various ancestral cultures. This knowledge acts as a guiding light for the transformation of those seeking answers to their struggles, understanding of life’s purpose, and true happiness. Its message has already reached more than 5,000 students in regular study groups and over 250,000 people through open courses. What drives all these people to seek knowledge that leads to a simple and fulfilling life? It is the very essence of our shared humanity, in whose heart the desire for truth and connection is born. This is the message of Vedānta. Shraddha is our strength!
