This is the Candy model 133 which along with the Candy 137 were delivered by Candy by the fall of 1978. The advertisement of the two machines was based on the fact that the 80s were approaching and the new Candy 133 and 137 were in advance with respect of the time being that at the Candy the 80s had already begun. The two machines are an evolution of the previous model 124 and 134 of the early 70s and the most important difference can be seen in the turning basket agitators, the old series 3000 smooth agitators were abandoned in favor of the more efficient therefore more aggressive with the laundry squared shape that was since then used also in the new Formula Inox stainless steel tub which was part of the second series of the following P (Primato) series of which some early machine (P6.72 model) were released by Christmas 1979 with the new rotating basket design but sill with the old series 3000 galvanized tub instead of the Formula Inox tub that would have been common to all the P models throughout the 80s until the Forma series appeared by fall of 1990. The 133 and 137 so were equipped with the classic 3000 series galvanized and the new design rotating basket, the outer cabinet was that of the 135 series, motor, friction pads, drain pump and filter, and most of the other components were not changed with respect of the 1970s model washing machines. The 133 was the basic version, with a spin speed of 400rpm and a maximum load of 5kg of dry laundry and a light blue Plexiglass porthole while the 137 model had a 550rpm spin speed, had the 3/5kg load selector the classic tempered glass porthole a laminated scratch resistant interchangeable top and more wash programs available. They were intended to be a transition model to test the new basket and see if it was well received by Candy customers which were now used to the more gentle action smooth agitators version since 1970 when they appeared first in the Candy 98 and Candy 68T model machines. These two models are still among those Candy washing machine with an average life span of more than 20 years in an average home usage.
