A truly memorable Carnatic evening unfolded at Ananya’s Nana Nani Homes, Phase 5, featuring the rare and enchanting mother–daughter duo, Smt. Uma Naresh and Smt. Nandhitha U N. True to the saying “Vidya Vinaya Sampannam”, Nandhitha conducted herself with humility, grace, and composure throughout the concert, reflecting both her academic and musical accomplishments with quiet elegance. Their flawless vocal harmony beautifully showcased a four-generation musical legacy, where tradition has been lovingly nurtured and gracefully passed down. The thoughtfully curated program was entertaining and immersive, packed with compositions from the Trinity of Carnatic Music—Sri Thyagaraja Swamigal, Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar, and Sri Shyama Shastri—along with songs in Telugu, Sanskrit, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and even a Maharashtrian Abhang. A variety of ragas were presented, with Raga Aalapanas, sangathees, and neravals—especially in the Papanasam Sivan compositions—delivered masterfully by both Uma and Nandhitha, adding rich layers of depth and knowledge to the evening. Nandhitha’s manodharma shone in her Aalapana solos, while her respect for accompanying artists and perfect coordination with her Guru and mother lent the performance a seamless flow. Their raga sancharam ran like well-oiled wheels, creating a treat for the audience to watch and listen to. Balancing a busy work schedule, family responsibilities, and devotion to music, Nandhitha’s dedication is truly commendable. Born into a family with a deep passion for music and nurtured by Uma, she is blossoming into a brilliant musician in her own right. With sensitive and spirited accompaniment by Sri Guruvayurappan (violin) and Sri Radhakrishnan (mridangam), the concert rose to sublime heights. The packed meditation hall reflected the audience’s anticipation and joy, making this evening a celebration of classical excellence, devotion, humility, and enduring musical heritage. Heartfelt thanks to @nandhitha_un for a beautiful rendition
