Hockey DIY!!! This video shows step by step instructions on how to reuse old broken sticks to make a stickhandling deker and wrist curler. The first project is a wrist curler for strengthening forearms, wrists and grip strength. We used about 12-15 inches of an old hockey stick shaft, a hockey lace and a 5lb weight. Tape the ends to avoid any sharp edges, drill a hole, thread lace through and tie, and lastly attach a weight (or weighed object of your choice) to the opposite end of the lace! Check out the video to see the entire process and how to properly use your DIY wrist strengthener! The second project is a deker, or stick handling tool. You will need about 2-3 feet of an old hockey stick shaft, 4 pucks, and 2 screws (or hockey tape if a drill/screws are not available...or age appropriate). See the second part of the video to see all of the step by step instructions to make your DIY deker and what other training tools and moves work well with it! Hit us up with any other useful ways to recycle broken sticks and turn them around to help your training. Thanks for watching! If you haven't already, please subscribe!
