Module 6: Link Layer Part 4: Ethernet and Switch Self Learning CNT-4731: Net-Centric Computing This module discusses the roles of the link layer protocols, various mechanisms that are essential parts of the link layer, including multi-access principles, error detection and correction, bit/byte stuffing. Using Ethernet (802.3) and WiFi (802.11*), the module will cover how network nodes (hosts and routers) construct and process frames, which addresses (and addressing schemes) are used. We will also cover ARP, the essential protocol that connects network layer and link layer protocols together. This protocol will be also a focus in the project 3.
