The latest US tariffs have come into effect with President Donald Trump insisting the policy is vital for his economic vision. Most Chinese imports now face a staggering 104% tax, as the trade war between the world's two biggest economies shows no signs of slowing. At least 98 people have died and more than 150 others are injured after a roof collapsed at an iconic nightclub in the Dominican Republic's capital. A lengthy rescue and recovery operation continues with local authorities confirming a popular singer, a provincial governor and a former Major League Baseball player are among the dead. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says his forces have captured two Chinese men fighting for Russia in Eastern Ukraine. Beijing is a close diplomatic ally of Moscow, but this is the first official allegation from Kyiv that China is supporting Russia with troops.
