The world's two largest economies are hurtling towards an all-out trade war tonight. The US is threatening to double tariffs on Chinese imports if Beijing presses on with its plans for retaliatory tariffs. Beijing has labelled that blackmail, and says it will "fight 'til the end". The European Union has responded to Donald Trump’s tariffs by announcing plans for 25 per cent tariffs on some American imports, while prioritising negotiations with the White House. Israel reportedly now controls 50 per cent of Gaza after doubling its buffer zone in recent weeks, according to Israeli soldiers and rights groups.
