Hi, I am Daniel with etrailer, and today we're gonna be taking a look at our Blue Ox base plate kit on our 2024 Ford Maverick. So there are gonna be five main components to your flat tow setup. Starting here with your base plate, and that is gonna be the hardware that will attach the frame of your vehicle that allows you to directly attach to your tow bar. And your tow bar here is gonna be the device that attaches to your hitch on your motorhome. And you will also have safety chain cables. Those are just gonna be for any towing set up. Just in case something fails, that these will catch the vehicle. And speaking of safety, you're also going to need a braking system that will stop your vehicle. And also a seven-pole wiring kit so you can do your diode wiring in the back, so all your blinkers work when you're going down the road. So we are flat towing a Ford Maverick today, and this will need a couple of extra components to make your flat towing safe and legal. So one of them being your brake light relay. So your Ford Maverick is gonna override your turn signals when you're pressing on the brake in your motorhome due to the braking system in place. So you're gonna need this device where your turn signals will still work with your foot on the brake. So, say, you're going around a turn and you're pressing your brakes to slow down, you still want your turn signal to come through on your Maverick. And the next component for our Maverick is a charge line kit. This will just allow a little trickle charge the battery since our braking system is reliant on the seven-pole, and so it won't be dead when you are ready to tow. And one component you may need is a high/low adapter. And to figure out if you need that, you can get the measurement from the center of your base plate hole here to the ground. Ours is about 14 inches today. And next you wanna measure to the center of your hitch pin opening. So if it's plus or minus, if it's over plus or minus three inches, you're gonna need a high/low adapter like we did today. We just got a six inch and we got within that range. So taking a closer look at our base plate here, and this will be a compatible, of course, with your blue box tow bar. But if you do have an etrailer, Demco, or Roadmaster tow bar, you can buy a adapter for that that is sold separately. But let's go ahead and take this off here. Say, you're done towing for the day, you wanna take your Maverick out, just take all these components off. And then to take the foot off, you just wanna pull this pin, rotate it, and it comes right out. And you can store this wherever you like. And you can see it's a pretty flush design here, just with a couple of components sticking out of your Maverick. And when you're ready to tow, you can simply put this back in, give it a turn, click it in, reattach your tow bar here, (metal clacking) and do make sure your pin is in the down position, so it's locked, and putting our safety chains back on and our breakaway switch back on. And another thing I like about this Blue Ox base plate is it comes with all your attachments. It comes with your mounting point for your six-pole wiring, and you don't have to do a lot of cutting to your fascia 'cause this sticks right through. You can see the two plastic pieces here. You really just have to cut the two plastic pieces on the end to accommodate your feet on your base plate. But other than that, it's a pretty clean look. So if you're flat toe in your Ford Maverick, please let us know any tips or tricks in the comments below that you found when installing the base plate. But if you do have any questions about your setup, please feel free to leave us a message or give us a call, and we can give you some advice on what you're gonna need. But going into the install, it is fairly invasive. You're gonna have to take your full fascia off, and there is a lot of cutting. So if that's something you're not into or you don't have the time or tools, please feel free to check out our dealer locator and we can find a professional to do it for you. Without further ado, let's get into the install. To start off this installation, you're gonna wanna start removing your fascia on your Maverick. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna get these two push pin fasteners outta here. We're gonna get this plastic c
