Mary’s intervention in the life of Mater Ecclesiae Viva Gesù! Dear Sisters and friends. At the outset, I congratulate the team, FMA Media ING for launching out a significant initiative to propagate Mary’s interventions in our life and mission. I begin this by affirming that the inception of our province Mater Ecclesiae is itself the first powerful intervention of Mary. The year 2000, the bimillennium of the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ, also the birth of our Province, Mater Ecclesiae with 22 communities and 150 Sisters under the leadership of Sr Lucy Rose Ozhukayil. The mission then was few and limited. 24 February 2000, the date of the canonical erection of our province is also the date when Sr Maria Bricarello, one of the pioneers of North East took her flight to heaven, indicating a testament to fidelity in serving Christ and the young people. The happy co-incidence of the Great Jubilee of the Church this year, 2024, and the 25th anniversary of Mater Ecclesiae, FMA-ING, will go a long way to make Jesus born again in the hearts of young people through our service of education and evangelization according to the charism of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello. The steady growth of vocation and mission, with 305 Sisters and 40 communities confirm what Don Bosco said, “Everything was done through Mary and nothing that was done was done without Her.” May Mater Ecclesiae continue to accompany us in our missionary journey of holinesss in synodality and solidarity with the Church for the saving mission of Jesus and His Kingdom of Peace, Justice and Love.
