Women in Leadership – Graduation VideoEvent Video

To build and expand corporate leader’s groups in favour of promoting women employees, and to encourage corporate investment in the training and professional development of women, UN Women Jordan launched the Guidelines for Leadership and Skills Development of Women in the Private Sector and Checklist. This initiative was carried out to enhance the pipeline of women ready to actively sit on boards and lead in managerial positions. In partnership with Amam Ventures, the Association of Banks in Jordan, and Bank Al Etihad, UN Women also implemented capacity development training on board governance and leadership. As part of this effort, 86 women successfully graduated from the Get on Board (GOB) program, a strategic initiative designed to increase women's representation in corporate leadership by equipping them with the necessary governance and leadership skills. The program specifically targeted boosting the presence of women on corporate boards, in advisory roles, and within executive and managerial positions across the private sector. Under the JP, the initiative has supported 32 women through the third and fourth cohorts, with 13 completing the comprehensive GOB program and 19 participating in the Mini GOB. The curriculum covered essential topics such as Corporate Governance, the Role of Board Committees, Boards and Risk Management, Governance for SMEs and Family Businesses, Startup Governance for VC-Backed Companies, and NGO Governance. Participants also benefited from fireside chats with renowned leaders, offering practical insights and real-world experiences.
