We started our adventure at Donner Memorial State Park, where we walked along the scenic trail beside Donner Lake and explored the visitor center to learn about the Donner Party’s history. After soaking up the park’s beauty and history, we headed into downtown Truckee to explore the historic district, check out some local shops, and enjoy a delicious dinner at a Mexican restaurant. It was one of those perfect travel days that leaves you both tired and inspired — with plenty of reasons to come back!
