On board a Inwood-207 Street bound R179 A train from Far Rockaway to Inwood-207 Street

Seen here is a ride on a A train operated by R179s bound for Inwood-207 Street. About 2 years ago, a set of R179s was uncoupled while in service on the A line heading towards 207 Street during in the late night hours. Because of that incident, all R179s were pulled from service for routine checkups on all the cars, based on the flaws of the incident, to be sure that all the flaws were fixed until they put it back into service. And now, 2 years later, these cars are still running around on the A, C, J, and Z lines as the performance have improved from the last incident since they pulled it out of service. Although in my opinion, these cars are so slow that it takes up 2 minutes for it to come into the station based on how long it takes to get in there and out of there. Please Note: subway service is fully 24/7 again, but doesn’t mean you should take off your mask when riding public transportation. Always wear a mask when riding the subway or buses, be at least 6 feet from others around you, and in case you need to adjust your mask, wear gloves when adjusting. Enjoy! Date Taken: June 3, 2022
