Second wave: The second wave is generated by the left and right bottom chambers with each electrical pulse. This wave is also known as the QRS Complex. Third-wave: The third and final wave is known as the T wave, which indicates the ventricles going into a resting phase. The #ECG test is the ideal diagnostics tool to determine the optimal functioning of the heart by evaluating the time it takes for the electrical pulses to pass through the heart. The #ECG test procedure requires you to lie flat on your back on a comfortable table and restrict your movements. Small adhesive patches, called electrodes are attached to several areas of the arms, legs, and chest. The electrodes are connected to the #ECG machine which interprets the heart rate and the electrical pulses into a wave representation, which looks similar to a seismograph (a device that measures the magnitude of earthquakes). The doctor might also ask you to hold your breath for a few seconds during the procedure. Be advised, you need to stay still during the ECG test as the movement can interfere with the results. This helps the doctor to determine whether the heart’s activity is normal, fast, slow or irregular.
