This tutorial will show you how to install the Sparkles preset, and how to use it. This effect will let you quickly add twinkles or sparkles to specific areas of your footage, and maintain control over their quantity, size, brightness, and rotation. Like the standard Glow effect, it works by sparkling the brightest parts of your footage, but it allows you to contract those bright spots for a smaller, more detailed starglow. Use the effect to create dream-like sparkles on water, twinkling stars, or sparkling or shimmering lights. The Sparkle preset works by combining multiple Glow effects—each one with an exponentially larger radius to create a realistic falloff/fade. You can adjust the ratio for that falloff with the customization controls. After installing the preset, you'll be able to access the Sparkles effect any time, from inside of After Effects.
