Real Estate listings in the Lettered Streets Neighborhood: https://www.buyermax.com/letteredstreets This historic neighborhood resting above the downtown core, nestled between Broadway, Cornwall Avenue, and Whatcom Creek is The Lettered Streets Neighborhood. Unlike the surrounding neighborhoods, the main streets are lined up parallel to Bellingham bay, with each being named after the letters in the alphabet. Thanks to preservationists, much of the Lettered Streets’ historic past has stood the test of time. Remnants of the settler period can be seen in the brick building off of ‘E’ street and the Pickett House. Plenty of non-residential buildings are also listed under the Historic National Register, including the Great Northern Railroad Passenger Station, the Aftermath Clubhouse, and the Lottie Roth Block. The Lettered Streets is zoned for a variety of uses. Inside you will find a mix of residences and commercial buildings, all flowing together to give the neighborhood a modern, yet historic vibe. Outdoor recreation spots include Maritime Heritage Park, the Old Village Trail, Battersby Field, Touts Park, and the Cornwall Tot Lot, which help promote outdoor play spaces for children. Families with children living in the neighborhood can expect their kids to attend Parkview Elementary, Whatcom Middle School (located within The Lettered Streets), and Bellingham High School. The Lettered Streets is one of the oldest parts of Bellingham, providing a rich, visible history for all of its residents to see. It’s easy to see why over 3000 people call this little slice of the city home. The Bellingham Neighborhood Series is created and produced by Keith Cook and the Real Estate Team at BuyerMax.
