As the devotee beholds the Divine, the Divine in turn behold the devotee and bestows a blessing. The Buddhists have a similar practice, with the understanding of the power of the image to communicate, to alter state of consciousness, to teach. It seems good to surround yourself with images of female integrity such as these in whatever way you can: they will teach you on a body cellular level. The image communicates the unspeakable – that which can only be known in body – below rational mind. It invokes an earlier way of knowing. Your imagination needs good food. The images I have chosen for each of the Seasonal Goddess Slideshows are somewhat arbitrary – there are many others, that you may choose. Her aspects cannot really be separated – She is One and whole always: these selected images tell a story of particular qualities that may be contemplated at the Seasonal Moment of Autumn Equinox.
