While traditional reports map the creative economy through nonprofits and registered businesses, the real creative energy in Boston’s Black and immigrant communities often goes uncounted. Where does creativity live in Roxbury and Dorchester? It flows through "invisible" spaces like hair salons, open mic nights, fashion events, and pop-up food markets featuring Nigerian, Haitian, and Cape Verdean vendors. The Challenge & The Opportunity: Despite enormous creative energy, many Black and immigrant creatives face barriers to capital and institutional support. This channel highlights the artists and entrepreneurs who make up this vibrant ecosystem. We are making the invisible visible, legible, and investable. Featured in this video: • The diversity of the Diaspora: African, Caribbean, Afro-Latino, and African American histories braiding into something uniquely "Boston". • The informal economy that sustains households. About Consciously Exposed: Led by Leonard Tshitenge, we bridge the gap between community creativity and civic infrastructure. Leonard has over 10 years of experience curating healing spaces, festivals, and fashion events. 📩 Book us for consulting or speaking: arts@consciously-exposed.com Follow the Arts & Creativity Playlist: • Consciously Exposed Arts Project #CreativeEconomy #BostonArts #SupportBlackBusiness #ImmigrantEntrepreneurs #Roxbury #Dorchester #CultureLivesHere
