My first visit to Blackpool Tramway for the 2016 season and what a fantastic way to start! Plenty of trams out and some enthusiasts out for it, despite it being very cold and windy (with the presence of Storm Kate in the UK at the time). Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours said last year they are planning a 'Bigger and Better 2016'. In line with keeping to this statement, Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours started 2016 early this year with their winter warmer events in January and February. Then the Summer season officially kicked in with the Easter Running weekend. The weekend was also the weekend that Marton Box 31 was launched on Blackpool rails since arriving from Beamish Transport Museum a month beforehand. This was swapped with Standard 147, which was sent to Beamish. On this particular day (Monday 28th March 2016), the gold schedule was in use for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The trams that were out on the rails were as follows: Twin Set 5 (675+685) Twin Set 2 (272+T2) Marton 31 Motorcoach 680 Balloon 715 Balloon 717 Centenary 648 We also see these trams around Pleasure Beach, North Pier, Central Blackpool and Bispham. On-boards are also featured of various trams that I managed to ride on during the day. Enjoy!
