This video is designed for student midwives to support their university studies. The Back to Basics playlist will aim to help students get to grips with basic midwifery practice and help them link both A&P as well as underpinning theory. The references below are those used in this session but it is always appropriate to seek the most current guidance and evidence to support your practice. This presentation is based on UK practice in January 2021. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the information is correct, Motivational midwife takes no liability for the content. Clinicians should use any information shown in the context of their expertise and local practice. Links & resources Some good books to help your studies are listed below: Mayes Midwifery or Myles Midwifery - both good sound midwifery text books which will serve you well for years. A&P made incredibly visual / A&P made incredibly easy - both my go to easy basic A&P books. They are available on Amazon and really help you get to grips with basic A&P before you head for a midwifery specific one such as Stables & Rankin or Coad & Dunstall. The At A Glance series of books published by Wiley Blackwell are really great bite sized chunks of information almost page to a topic. One of my particular go to books is Midwifery Skills at a glance (not just because I wrote some of it!!).Well worth the investment.
