Remember to hit subscribe to avoid missing out on the other challenges! Over the past two days, you've done something most people never do: You became aware of your automatic patterns, and you practiced meeting them with kindness. Today, we integrate that learning through the body. Why journaling? Why somatic journaling? Because your nervous system speaks in the language of sensation, emotion, and experience, not just thoughts. When you journal, paying attention to your body, you're not just writing what you think. You're writing what you feel and what your nervous system is telling you. This is where integration happens. This is where patterns actually shift. Types of journaling you might use: Dumpster Journaling: Just write without editing Prompt-based: Answer specific questions (like the Gates) Somatic: Write from the body's perspective—what sensations, emotions, movements are present? Goal Focused: Write down your deepest desires while noticing any limiting thoughts that may come up, such as: “that will never happen” or “it's hard”... these reveal the root of any present limitation (more on this on day 5). All of these work. Pick what feels right. Today's challenge: I'm going to show you how to journal somatically in the video. Then, use the Gates of Awareness from Day 1 as your journaling framework: What triggered me? What did I feel in my body? What emotion came up? What thoughts followed? What did I do next? But this time, write it from your body's perspective. What was your body trying to tell you? What was it protecting you from? The goal isn't perfect writing. It's integration. Optional: If you want more structure and guidance for somatic journaling, I created a Guided Journal with prompts specifically designed for this work. It's $37, and it's yours to use beyond this challenge: https://insightfulessence.com/journal But honestly? A regular notebook works just fine. The tool doesn't matter. Your awareness does. The practice: Pick a quiet space (even 10 minutes) Use the Gates as your framework Write from your body's wisdom Don't edit yourself That's it. See you tomorrow. Roselyn P.S. If you journal and find you want more structure, the Guided Journal is there. Regardless, just remember you're already doing the real work by being here.
