Tutorial Tuesday #49 "Purple Mountain" by Kaylee Rakowski

Hey Everyone! Thank you all so much for joining me here in the studio again this week for a new episode of #Tutorialtuesday. "Purple Mountain" If you are new to my channel: Welcome! Tutorial Tuesday happens every Tuesday at 5pm mst. This is where a brand new Oil Painting Tutorial type painting will be posted every week, and we sit down and watch it as it airs for the very first time on the web. I love this time of week, because we get to catch up and relax while watching a wonderful oil painting come to life in a matter of a couple hours. Each painting is painted in a single sitting, and based off of an idea, a photo, a sketch or mood. This is my first attempt at painting this scene, so you get to enjoy the process of creation in the heat of it. Today, I wanted to paint a simple scene and not really overthink it much. I had a wonderful event the day before and was actually recovering from a pretty bad sun burn and wanted to have a casual day in the studio. This painting can very easily be dressed up or down and it’s a fun composition to work with for these 18”x24” canvases.
