The Phoenix Way: Dr Manju Shahul Hameed - Love Not Hate (Funded Partner Spotlight)

On the 8th of February 2025, the Manju Shahul-Hameed Foundation for Mental Health organised a night filled with music, dance, and creativity, celebrating diversity and positivity at Whitgift School. This event doubled as a fundraiser for the Civic Mayor of Croydon’s charities and the Manju Shahul-Hameed Foundation for Mental Health. For seven years, the 'Love Not Hate' event has been a symbol of unity, showcasing youth talent and nurturing community spirit. Building on the success of the SOLD-OUT ‘Love Not Hate Young Stars of Croydon’ on 2nd of March, 2024, which inspired 700 guests with performances from 150 young artists, we continue to address the pressing issue of knife crime. The aim of the event was to empower young people, celebrate their talents and foster a safer and more positive environment. The Phoenix Way Team contributed funding to the Manju Shahul Hameed Foundation, which helped cover costs for the Love not Hate event. We filmed behind the scenes to find out more about Manju's work and the impact the event had on the various communities in attendance.
