Please make sure to unplug the Behmor before working on it! You should watch my video called draw fan before watching this one. • draw fan This video shows you how to disconnect the draw fan, a yellow wire, and the after burner, a brown wire, on a Behmor 1600+ (I know one person tried this on a newer model and it did not work. Please let me know information like so I can update info). It also goes over why you might want to do this. I do not roast over 8oz at a time so if you do, this video might not apply to you. Most of my roasts are 5 or 6oz, one pound setting always, manual mode P5 to start. I used a thermocouple to test how hot the electrical board gets with the draw fan and the afterburner on and off and there was no change in the heat. There is more smoke during the roast when the draw fan and the afterburner are disconnected. I haven’t noticed any smoky flavors in my coffee because of this but I do have a hole on the left side of the Behmor for my BT probe and I can some smoke coming out. I have been thinking of drilling a small hole in the roof to let out some of the smoke. If you are roasting inside, do not disconnect the draw fan and the afterburner. There isn’t a ton of smoke, but there is a noticeable increase. All other functions, (that I know of) like the auto shut off, still work so don’t leave your Behmor unattended.
