#DIYCNCMill #3018CNC #Fusion360 #Mach3 #Tutorials In this video, I showed you the process of changing the stepper motors on my 3018CNC. The new, bigger stepper motors requires 2A each but the stepper motor drivers on the control board the the 3018 CNC can only supply 1.4A max. To use the new stepper motors to their max potential, I decide to use 3 TB6600 stepper motor driver which are cheap and can supply up to 3.5A for each motor. This also requires a new power supply with more than 6A, so I settled on a 36W 10A unit. The first choice for the control board is to use the original control board of the 3018 CNC. This will requires taking out the original stepper motor driver and connecting the corresponding signal pins to the external stepper motor divers. My choice is to change it to a Mach3 compatible control board. Here's the link to buy this board: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32964... Wiring the board to the stepper motors was easy. And configure the new control board in Mach3 also was a breeze. Mach3 will give you more abilities to customize your machine and push it to the limits. Compare to GRBL and Candle, it's more mature and more user friendly. In the end, the new assembly make the machine works faster, easier to use and calibrate, configure...
