This 1-hour yin yoga practice is designed to gently guide your body and nervous system from a state of doing into a state of deep rest. We begin with calming 4-7-8 breathing to shift from the sympathetic (stress) response into the parasympathetic nervous system, creating a sense of safety and ease from the very start. From there, we softly release stored tension in the face, jaw, shoulders, and arms—areas closely connected to the Heart channel in Traditional Chinese Medicine. These gentle, mindful movements and yin holds help soothe the upper body, quiet the mind, and encourage emotional and physical release. This is a slow, gentle flow that invites you to melt into each shape, letting go of anything you no longer need to hold onto. Optional tennis balls can be used to deepen sensation and support fascial release, but they’re completely optional—this practice is about comfort, not intensity. We close with a short deeply relaxing meditation sitting up or lying down, allowing the nervous system to fully settle so you can transition into a peaceful evening and enjoy a truly restorative night’s sleep.
