I got some requests to make a video about how to make a waveform out of a vector graphic. So here goes. These are the tools I used in the video: Pure Data Vanilla - graphical programming language https://puredata.info/downloads/pure-... Inkscape - a powerful vector drawing and editing program https://inkscape.org/ Vector Synthesis Master - a collection of PD patches that are a goldmine of oscilloscope drawing tools written by Derek Holzer https://github.com/macumbista/vectors... Axidraw Utilities - a set of plugins for Inkscape that includes single stroke Hershey fonts, designed for laser engraving and plotters, but there's a lot of other great stuff to make Inkscape better https://wiki.evilmadscientist.com/Axi... Stipplegen2 - turns an image into something a plotter can draw https://www.evilmadscientist.com/2012... 2d-vector-help-HB.pd - -a Pure Data patch that turns pairs of X/Y coordinates to a waveform, to which I added Alexey Reshetnikov's simple wave recorder, from https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/upload... My hybrid version is here: https://github.com/eyesdrib/Unilatera... Notepad++ - a simple text editor, chosen because it allows for quick and easy macro writing https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/ Rabiscoscopio - SVG to waveform convertor, that works well with a single, closed object with no curves https://dalpix.com/oscilloscope-drawi... I'm a Windows user. Most of these apps will run on Linux, all of them on Windows, and I don't know know about Macs. I tried to make the information complete and easy to follow, having once been a PD-newbie. When your muscle memory kicks in, you should be able to go from an SVG drawing to waves on your oscilloscope in two or three minutes.
