Aberle GmbH, a company of the Körber Logistics Systems, was the general contractor for Lieken AG, a manufacturer of bakery products, to build a new deep-freeze high-bay warehouse. The new solution is characterized by networked IT processes for production and storage, system integration for rack and conveyor technology and 3 new double-deep storage and retrieval machines. The sister company Langhammer, which also belongs to Körber Logistics Systems, supplied the complete conveyor technology. The system is designed for -24 degrees and is controlled via an avalanche transceiver installed by the customer and a material flow computer. The new high-bay warehouse has a throughput of 179 storage and retrieval operations and a total of 4,296 pallet movements per day. The deep-freeze warehouse is prepared for further increases in throughput.
