The issues I have with Calvinism are many But the main issue is their insistence that man has no free will. This opens cornucopia of problems that leads one logically to some not so great places. The parable of the sower clears it all up. In Jesus' parable of the sower, he describes a sower who scatters seed indiscriminately. Some seeds fall along the path and are eaten by birds, symbolizing those who hear the word of God but do not understand it. Other seeds fall on rocky ground and sprout quickly but wither away due to lack of roots, representing those who receive the word with joy but quickly fall away in times of trouble. Some seeds fall among thorns and are choked by worldly cares and wealth, illustrating those who hear the word but are consumed by the concerns of life. Finally, some seeds fall on good soil, producing a bountiful harvest, symbolizing those who hear the word, understand it, and bear fruit in their lives. The parable emphasizes the importance of receptive hearts and the need for perseverance and steadfastness in following God's word. This Parable runs contrary to Reform Theology's hyper-deterministic ideas. Here are the scriptures referenced in this video. Galatians 2:16 "Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified." Romans 3:28 "For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law." Romans 5:1 "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 4:5 "And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness.." Philippians 3:9 "And be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—" Romans 4:3 'For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.”' Ephesians 2:8 & 9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God," James 2:24 "You see that a person is justified (in the eyes of men) by works and not by faith alone." Galatians 2:21 "I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose." Romans 3:20 "For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin." John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." Romans 11:6 "But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace." Galatians 3:24 "So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith." James 2:23 'And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God.' Galatians 5:6 "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love." Genesis 15:6 "And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness." John 1:12 "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.." Romans 4:16 "That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.." Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Please notice in Romans 4:5 it says "But to him that works not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, HIS FAITH is counted for righteousness." Notice it references HIS faith... not God's faith. God does not FORCE us to believe. We are not puppets. We are not robots. Thanks for watching!
