In this video I talk about the reasons I think the less lethal Umarex HDR 50 (home defence revolver) may not be such a great choice for home defence in the UK. Unlike most other youtubers I personally believe the power of the 11 Joule version is more than enough for the average size UK home to stop and intruder. The issue comes with our laws however. To get the most out of the power so you can be sure to incapacitate someone, alternate ammunition would be needed, and In my opinion any of these in a home defense scenario would cause you serious problems in a court of law. The best option is to not shoot anyone with anything in the uk… unless you’re willing to go to court to defend your actions.
