KINGAROY & NANANGO This week we drive to the South Burnett region - a very scenic area of Queensland that we've never visited before. The day starts with a drive to Nanango (via the sleepy little town of Linville). Nanango is Queensland’s fourth oldest town and has plenty of country charm. We have a delicious lunch at a local café before continuing our trip to Kingaroy. Kingaroy is approximately 210 kilometres or about 2½ hours drive north-west of Brisbane. Kingaroy is known as the 'Peanut Capital of Australia'. During the 1980's it was one of Australia's best-known country towns because it was the home of the late Joh Bjelke-Petersen, the long time Premier of Queensland and one of the most controversial politicians of recent times. We visit 'The Big Peanut', the Peanut Van and the giant peanut silo's. We also pop into a local winery where we enjoy some local wine tasting.
