This was my second attempt at a beach-themed resin tray — and let’s just say the waves had their own agenda. My vision: A sandy island in the middle with beautiful water wrapping all the way around. What happened instead? The white waves completely took over. I had to pivot (word of the week 😅). I originally used a UV DTF sticker, but it was just too large for the design. I ended up switching to a vinyl decal cut on my Cricut, which fit the space much better. I also tried using a new product while attempting waves again — probably overly ambitious for one pour. The white spread more than I planned and overpowered the deeper water tones. Do I love it? Not really. Is it a total disaster? No. Would I change things next time? Absolutely. Learning resin is part experiment, part patience, and part surprise — especially when you don’t know what the final demold will look like. Let me know — wave fail or just dramatic shoreline? 🧰 Materials Used • Let’s Resin Casting Resin • NicPro Pouring Oil • Eye Candy Mica Powder • Eye Candy Pigment Paste • Meyspring Mica Powder • Vinyl decal (cut on Cricut) • Tray mold with handles
