What you'll need: -measuring cups -measuring spoons -3 bowls -pans (you can use either (2) 8x8 sq pans, (1) 9x13, or (3) 5.25x9 loaf pans) -nonstick baking spray -whisk -spatula -potato masher/fork -ingredients listed, of course *You can also make this recipe dairy free by swapping out your milk and butter for Vegan options!** Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F Crumb Recipe 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold butter cut into cubes 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup granulated sugar 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp salt *Add all dry ingredients to bowl and whisk *Add cubed butter *Using hands/mixer, break down butter to small pieces *should resemble a wet sand texture *set aside Cake recipe 4 cups all purpose flour 6 tsp baking powder 3 tsp cinnamon 2 tsp salt 5-6 ripe bananas 1 cup softened butter 3 cups granulated sugar 4 lg eggs 2 tsp vanilla 2 cups milk Pecans/Walnuts optional *measure flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon in bowl and set aside *mash ripe bananas in separate bowl and set aside *In your mixing bowl, add softened butter and granulated sugar, beat 5-6 mins on medium speed or until light and fluffy *add vanilla and eggs to your mixing bowl one by one until combined *add in mashed bananas and mix until incorporated (WE OBVIOUSLY FORGOT TO DO THIS STEP, but we folded in our bananas and the bread turned out perfectly fine, so don't worry if you forget like we did, it happens) *alternate adding in your flour mixture and your milk in 3 stages, starting with flour and ending with milk. *DON'T forget to stop and scrape if you're using a mixer *spray your pans or grease and flour *this recipe will not rise incredibly high, so feel free to fill your pans 3/4 of the way up *we did 4 layers. First layer is batter, Second is crumb, Third is batter, and last is crumb *if you're using glass, you might be baking anywhere from 30-45 mins *if you're using non-stick, your time will range from 30-40 mins *if you're using aluminum, 25-30 mins *Set your timer at 10 min intervals to make sure you are able to rotate your pan or switch racks depending on how fast it is browning. *check with toothpick/knife, if it comes out clean/dry, its done! *Happy Baking!
