This 1969 428 Cobra Jet Mustang was purchased on Bring a Trailer and is a rare car. #1969mustang, #mustangrestorations, #mach1. This 1969 Mustang was an introductory show unit that the District Sales Office diverted to the Dallas Memorial Auditorium for the show per the original Ford invoice. All the show units were built the same. R code 428 CJ, C6 automatic transmission, 3.50 traction – loc rear axle, power steering, drum brakes, Candyapple red with black interior, tilt – away steering, AM/FM radio, and chrome styled steel wheels. The engine for the car wasn’t a 428 CJ, it was a 390 with correct Cobra Jet heads, intake, carburetor, and exhaust manifolds. A correct 428 CJ block, crankshaft and pistons came with it, but has surface rust. Will have to sleeve the block hopefully the crankshaft will clean up. The car was built 8/16/1968, and had very little rust but it had a lot of damage on the right side of the body and the left rear had a quarter skin. Below is just some of the work you’ll see in this episode, hope you learn tons! Replaring the battery apron Epoxy Priming engine compartment & body Replacing taillight panel because of rust and accident Welding on right door for better gaps PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!! @gillisrestorations Gillis Performance Restorations LLC Address: 6330 Pine Hill Rd. #7, Port Richey, Fl. 34668 Phone: (727) 847-7983 Email: rusty@gillisrestorations.com Website: http://www.gillisrestorations.com
