Access City Award: Mapping an Accessible Future

The Access City Award 2021 competition has launched. The award celebrates the cities that are implementing accessibility improvements, aimed at benefitting all their citizens and promoting the social inclusion of persons with disabilities and the elderly. The European Commission is now accepting entries from the local authorities of eligible cities until 9 September 2020. The award ceremony will take place on 2 December 2020 in Brussels. For the main 2021 Access City Award the European Commission will award a monetary prize to this year’s winning cities as follows: 1st place €150,000 2nd place €120,000 3rd place €80,000 Special Mention for Accessibility of Public Services in Times of Pandemic: This year’s competition also includes a Special Mention award category to recognise the exceptional actions implemented by cities during the coronavirus.
