What does the Bible really mean when it says “believe”? In this in-depth KJV Bible study, we examine the word believe across Scripture—focusing only on passages where belief is directly connected to salvation, forgiveness of sins, everlasting life, and deliverance from condemnation. Rather than importing theology or modern church traditions, this study lets the Bible define belief on its own terms. Verse by verse, we look at how words like believe, believed, believeth, believest, believing, and believers are used when eternal life is clearly in view. A major focus of this study is the Gospel of John, where belief is repeatedly presented as the condition for everlasting life. We also examine key passages in Genesis, the Gospels, Acts, the Epistles, and Revelation—carefully filtering out verses where belief is unrelated to salvation, such as belief in miracles, reports, or temporal events. Topics covered in this study include: What it means to “believe” in the Bible Belief credited as righteousness Belief and everlasting life Belief versus unbelief and condemnation Why belief is never defined as turning from sin Why belief is never proven by works How salvation-belief is presented consistently from Genesis to Revelation Why unbelief—not a lack of works—is the basis of condemnation This study is especially helpful for anyone confused by modern teachings that redefine belief to include works, obedience, perseverance, or lifestyle reform. Every passage is examined in context, using the King James Bible only, allowing Scripture to speak for itself. If you want a clear, Bible-based understanding of what God requires for salvation—and what He does not require—this study will challenge assumptions and sharpen your understanding of the Gospel. All Scripture quoted is from the King James Version (KJV). If this study helps you, consider sharing it with someone who wants biblical clarity on salvation and eternal life. #believe #biblestudy #kjvbible #salvation #eternallife
